About Erin
MEET THE FOUNDER
Erin Snow
My name is Erin. I am a mom to two kids, step-mom to three, wife, the dog mom of two silly pups, and the compassionate listener behind Seacoast Listening Lounge.
My Vision
People ask me, where did this idea come from? It was born out of three things really:
1. Professional Background
I have spent the last sixteen years providing legal advocacy to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in protective order and family law cases. I am trained in trauma-informed advocacy and empathetic listening. What I have learned is that people need and want someone who listens. It sounds simple, but how often are we really listening to what people are telling us? We might hear the words, but do we understand what is actually being said?
2. Need for Connection
We made it through a pandemic. At its peak, we lost physical contact with our friends, family, and loved ones. In the workplace, in-person meetings were replaced with virtual ones. Thankfully, we have mostly returned to pre-pandemic life. The way we interact and communicate, however, has forever changed. And for some, that has led to feelings of isolation and loneliness.
3. My Personal Story
We have all had times in our lives when we really needed someone to listen to us. But there isn’t always an obvious choice of who that someone is. For me, a recent example was when I was going through my divorce. I didn’t want to talk to my friends about it because they might feel in the middle, and honestly, I was having major FOMO attacks about what my life would look like once word got out.
